A prominent Mezzo-Soprano with undeniable appeal, Eleanor Glantz is best known for her captivating and soulful rendition of song and prayer for Jewish Liturgy both in the synagogue and on the concert stage. As former Cantorial Soloist & Music Director of Temple Israel (Ottawa), she musically designed and officiated at all High Holy Days services and major festivals, as well as sundry B'nai Mitzvah and other life-cycle event services. As Music Director she successfully implemented an ambitious plan to build a new volunteer liturgical choir and establish a more majestic and reverent, and yet participatory, musical style of worship.
Eleanor is also a member of both the Opera Lyra Chorus and the Ewashko Singers chamber choir. Studying with Yoriko Tanno-Kimmons, she additionally benefits from the guidance of premier Chorus Masters Laurence Ewashko and Duain Wolfe, and from performing under the baton of numerous world-class conductors at the Canadian National Arts Centre.
Her upcoming endeavours include continued congregational work as a Cantorial Soloist as well as CD and touring versions of her recent and successful concert: “Awe-Inspiring Music from the Synagogue”.
